About the Organization

Enliven Cancer Care is a charitable organization founded in 2016 in service of those living with a cancer diagnosis and their caregivers within the District of Muskoka. Enliven seeks to support those living with cancer through educational resources, through community, and through the provision of a variety of programs that enable them to be engaged intellectually, physically, creatively and emotionally with the broader community. Each of Enliven’s programs are provided at no charge to participants, whether they be those living with a diagnosis or their caregivers.

Funding for Enliven is provided exclusively through grants, fund-raising efforts and through community philanthropy.

Enliven has been very successful at offering diverse programs that include Nia, yoga and exercise classes that address the physical needs of cancer patients, journaling and art classes that offer creative outlets, and peer-support and counseling to address the psycho-social aspects of living with a diagnosis. Information resources are offered on an ad hoc basis as well as through an annual Wellness Fair.

Enliven operates out of a physical office in Huntsville where its two part-time employees maintain offices.

Presently, Enliven Cancer Care has concluded that to continue its success in building awareness, expanding through Muskoka, and to advance fund development, a part-time Executive Director is required.
